Intensive Outpatient Program
More support when weekly therapy isn't enough.
Sometimes life becomes too overwhelming to manage with a single therapy session each week—but that doesn't always mean you need inpatient or residential treatment. Barnett Healing Center's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides adults with structured, consistent therapeutic support while allowing them to remain at home and continue participating in their everyday lives.
Our virtual IOP combines psychotherapy, practical coping skills, education, and individualized support to help you move toward greater stability, safety, and emotional wellness.
Fall Program Begins September 8, 2026
Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM | Virtual
Who Is IOP For?
Our adult IOP is designed for individuals who need more support and structure than traditional weekly outpatient therapy can provide.
The program may be appropriate for adults experiencing:
Anxiety
Depression
Suicidal thoughts or ideation
Self-harm thoughts or behaviors
Difficulty managing emotions
Significant changes in daily functioning
Increased symptoms despite participating in traditional outpatient therapy
A need for additional support following a higher level of care
Because everyone's needs are different, participation begins with an initial assessment to determine whether IOP is an appropriate and safe level of care.
How the Program Works
The Benefits of IOP
IOP provides a higher level of therapeutic support while allowing clients to continue living at home and remain connected to their everyday lives.
The increased structure and frequency of treatment can help clients:
Develop stronger coping and emotional regulation skills
Better understand anxiety, depression, and other symptoms
Increase safety and stability
Reduce feelings of isolation
Practice new skills with ongoing therapeutic support
Identify triggers and unhealthy patterns
Build confidence using coping strategies in everyday situations
Receive more support during difficult seasons or transitions
Work toward returning to traditional outpatient therapy when appropriate
Virtual Care — Support From Home
Our Fall 2026 IOP is offered virtually, allowing clients to participate in structured treatment from a private location without traveling to the office five days each week.
Virtual care can make intensive treatment more accessible while still providing consistent interaction with therapists and other group members.
In-person IOP programming is planned to begin in January 2027.
Medication Management Is Available
Some clients benefit from combining therapy with psychiatric medication management.
Barnett Healing Center offers psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for individuals who would like to explore medication or need support managing medications they currently take.
Medication management is a separate service from IOP and is not included as part of the IOP program.
Appointments are available in person or virtually.
You do not have to receive medication management through Barnett Healing Center to participate in IOP.

Step 2- Complete your Assessment
Before beginning the program, you'll meet with a member of our clinical team for an initial assessment.
We'll talk about what you're experiencing, your current needs, symptoms, treatment history, safety, and goals. This helps us determine whether our virtual IOP is the appropriate level of care for you.
Step 4 — Begin IOP
You'll join our virtual groups Monday through Friday while also meeting individually with your therapist once each week.
Throughout the program, we'll monitor your progress and work with you to determine when you're ready to transition to a lower level of care.
